Alexander Das
Hi!
I am a shamelessly self-proclaimed “adventurist” and an obsessively overachieving self-humorist. Serving up a daft blend of design, UI/UX, short films, sound design, unconventional photo editing, epic drone shots with extra hipster lo-fi sounds, juicy music videos without the twerk and then some. Depends. Maybe. Possibly?

The Feed custom mailer boxes/bags & shipping solutions | The Feed gear
Initial designs in 2021-2022 focused on creating custom experiences for customers upon ordering. The challenge was to find solutions within budget to brand mailed orders. Our solution was designing custom merch, (hats, shirts, socks, etc...) and also branding product bags, mailer bags, and mailing tape for normal corrugated shipping boxes. In 2023 and into 2024, we not only transitioned to a much larger warehouse, but we also implemented robots in partnership with Brightpick, and upgraded the custom box machine unique to The Feed. You can see more HERE in Brightpick's video on Youtube.Along with the transition we moved to custom printed, full-color, custom made-to-order sized boxes. The design was created and iterated from taking the same aligned designs as before, but recreated using The Feed logo in various directions and patterns that would portray an elite experience when a customer receives their order and that would have at least one full logo visible on each side of the box, no matter how big or small a box was. This resulted in a more exclusive experience and led to subscriptions and The Feed memberships revenue increases.
From 2021-2024 Numerous & countless projects & products were designed for event use, customer purchases, promotions, and partner products. Below are just a few examples of work.(From top left clockwise) The Feed Digital/Physical Gift Cards, The Feed's Initial High Performance Team (HPT) branded gear for races and sponsorships, Vafels limited edition "The Feed Exclusive" collaboration packaging, Feed Formulas Pouch designs, my favorite of the feed bag mailers.
PRINT DESIGN
Print Design & Management for large scale Versant 4100 Xerox printer | Personalized/Variable data printingSample programs, paid partnership product promos, magazines, infographics, booklets, new products, educational drops, event gear (tents, flags, etc..), new product labels, posters, business cards & more.
The challenge & fun part of this job was the ability to initiate the creative direction & design for specific printing needs. This meant creating & archiving new print templates, guides, digital assets & setting up presets for other users/designers to easily use and execute. We printed all paper/card stock & some heaver materials all in-house on a commercial Xerox Versant 4100 printer, duplexer, & folder/cutter. Slicing was done and programmed with the Duplo DC-618 slitter. This lead to managing & directing the print/cutting process and setting up a standard of procedure for the company. Managed all things print for marketing, customer service, operations, finance & warehouse departments.

+ Created original illustrations for The Feed specific campaigns & marketing efforts. Increased bottle sales 4x & desire for custom water bottles by creating monthly, seasonal & event focused designs. This lead to the creation of The Feed's Bottle program & highly sought by customers & athletes worldwide.+ From 2021-2024 I was The Feed photographer & product photographer for e-commerce product pages & all marketing campaigns. This lead to unique & high quality image for both the site and for all avenues client-facing.+ Worked Internally & with The Public Works Fabrication team to craft studio, warehouse, office & event materials and custom builds. This created more of a "buzz" and gave the brand strong presence at events. Internally, it also saved us money and time, from having to hire a separate design firm.

kyoku X BEASTThe Feed Partnered with Beast & this was the pitch video we shot to elevate/expand retention & reach for Kyoku. The project was to create a series of videos that would potentially reach customers outside of the "endurance athlete" arena & reach a broader "regular" crowd.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Interior Design | Trimble/CAD 3D RenderingThe Feed developed & expanded during my employment. We grew from a small warehouse & office space taking about 30,000 sq.ft to a separate full floor tech building office space & offsite warehouse about 120,000 sq.ft. During this transition & company upgrade, we planned for renovations at our original location. Below, showcases the remodel plans. This was all created to scale using CAD & SketchUp software & shared with contractors.

BOTTLE OPERATIONS
Print Operations & Team DirectorDirector for Custom Water Bottle Program/Campaigns, Team Leadership & Organization
One of the most fulfilling, fun, & challenging initiatives at The Feed was creating & managing in house water bottle printing. Through my time with the company we evolved from outsourcing custom water bottles to eventually being able to print in house on our own printers. This process led to creating custom templates & dielines for printing, ensuring the machines & software integrated with existing systems, syncing XMPie (multichannel marketing technology for personalization), creating & maintaining processes for both design, customers, & machine operators. Overtime, my ongoing role evolved into maintenance for hardware, directing & organizing the team (printing, stocking & shipping), organizing all event orders, juggling Athlete sponsorship orders & shipments, Ensuring Adobe Creative Cloud services sync with XMPie and store correctly in our library for live website publishing. The list goes on and the skills learned during the process have made me a better creative & more organized & efficient in the way I work & delegate tasks for myself and/or team. There are too many projects & not enough words to express the importance & expansion this department brought to todays success for The Feed. I have outlined a few of the hundreds of projects we worked on below!Images (From top down) Event bottles & merch products for, "Ride Like Mo" memorial ride, Tour De France bottle designs, Small collection of bottle reactions on social media, Vuelta bottle design (Promo for 2 days during the Tour De France), Strava "Year In Sport" Custom bottles
Strava & The Feed teamed up to create a fun waterbottle design that mimicked Spotify's popular personalized "2024 Wrapped/ Your Year" campaign. Working directtly with the designers at Strava, this bottle became the next step in personalization for us. The final design summed up Strava users year & included your name, days active, total elevation gains, total distance, & total kudos. This design challenged the existing format we had for our online generator & required extra code, paramaters, & artwork specs to meet the new design. Overall we ended up selling over 14,000 bottles, which in turn generated at least $490,000 in sales for the 2 week campaign. You can see this in action & more posts on Strava HERE
Design Process

|1|Iterating the idea for the Tour de France bottle took a few attempts & trials to get it into the final stages. The idea was to take the colors (of French flag, The Tour De France, The Feed) & incorporate the elements that make the Tour de France so iconic. Red Dots to symbolize the polka dot jersey for the leader of the best climber classification. The red dots also create elevation points that highlight the highest peaks in the race. The Spanish/french flags were used in circular motifs symbolizing start/finish locations & kept the design & overall aesthetic consistent throughout the design. The bottle design also had to be durable enough to withstand heavy abuse in and out of bottle cages on bikes. Through vigorous testing we concluded that most designs, if not all, needed to be printed using negative spaced gaps in between color blocks of a design. Basically, we needed to utilize the negative space of the naked bottle. This made adhesion & longevity maximal as we knew that printing larger areas of ink on the bottles resulted in peeling/loss only after a few uses. The design needed to versatile enough to be able to work on various bottle color options, but also using the least amount of master designs for colors (using the same artwork for various bottle colors)|2|After the initial designs were finalized in Adobe Illustrator, we utilized InDesign & XMPie (leading technology for engaging audiences with personalized, relevant communications across Print & Digital media). The art files then had to be converted, uploaded and coded accordingly to all sales channels for e-commerce, warehouse & in-house system environments. Once this process was complete the designs were ready to be published to live sites and also queued into the bottle printing machines.|3|Coordinating, scheduling & maintaining publishes & making sure the live channels reflect in tandem with campaigns/promotions. Direction & team member delegation was necessary to coordinate printing in-house. Keeping analytics, counts & records on production numbers & dates were essential for keeping on schedule in a very fast-paced environment. We could accomplish what most companies would take weeks to complete in a day or two.
